Virginia: Trauma Tapper, Certified Narrative Therapist, EMDR Trained, Licensed Clinical Social Worker, Senior Clinician at Chesterfield County Jail
As a therapist that calls the narrative worldview “home,” there have been times where I have witnessed individuals with whom I work have a difficult time accessing the stories that give them meaning because of the tremendous emotional and somatic effects of trauma. Specifically, working with the HARP (Helping Addicts Recover Progressively) program in the Chesterfield County Jail, our participants come to us heavily burdened with experiences of abuse, neglect, violence, addiction, and loss. Since being introduced to Trauma Tapping, with the help of Kerri Rhodes and the Peaceful Heart Network, I have seen those burdens become lighter. This levity has allowed more space for exploration of meaningful stories and relationships for these participants on their journey of recovery.
